Hey! It's Darian here. I just spent this entire evening scouring these weekly ads and finding the best deals for all you guys!! So I hope that this can be of some help to everyone trying to budget!
(If you are new here move this email over to your primary inbox so that you don't miss out on any issues that come out!)

FOOTBALL IS BACK!! 🏈 Whether you're a die-hard fan or just show up for the snacks, game days are better with great food. I also want to apologize for missing last week's issue. Life got busy, but I'm back and I came with a LOT of deals to make up for it. This week is all about hosting a BBQ or watch party without breaking the bank, so grab your jersey and let's get into it!

🏆 Best Single Deal This Week

Ralphs: USDA Choice Ribeye Steak — $9.99

This is hands down the best deal of the week. USDA Choice ribeye is super high quality beef, and getting it for under 10 bucks is wild. This is the kind of steak you'd normally pay a LOT more for, so it's perfect for a special game day dinner or a Labor Day grill-out that feels fancy without the fancy price. Reminder: this deal is Friday only, so mark your calendar!

Top 3 Deals to Consider

  • Smart & Final: Foster Farms Fresh Chicken Thighs — $1.99 (Smart & Final is coming through AGAIN with the cheap chicken! Thighs are juicy, forgiving on the grill, and basically impossible to mess up. Stock up and freeze some!)

  • Smart & Final: First Street Chicken Party Wings — $24.99 (Okay, wings and football go together like... wings and football. This is a big pack, so it's perfect for feeding a crowd at your watch party.)

  • Ralphs: First Street or Great American Cooked Shrimp — $7.99 (Already cooked and ready to go! Toss it on a platter with some cocktail sauce and you've got an instant party appetizer with zero effort.)

🍽️ $10 Feed Your Whole Family: Grilled BBQ Chicken Thighs, Rice & Slaw

Feed your entire family for about 10 bucks! This week's recipe is easy BBQ chicken thighs with fluffy rice and a crunchy slaw, made with that $1.99 Smart & Final chicken.

Shopping List & Budget Breakdown:

  • Foster Farms Fresh Chicken Thighs (about 3 lbs): ~$5.97 (Smart & Final $1.99 deal)

  • BBQ Sauce (18 oz bottle): ~$1.25

  • Long Grain White Rice (2 lb bag): ~$1.50

  • Coleslaw Mix (14 oz bag): ~$1.25

  • Pantry staples on hand: Olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, a little mayo or vinegar for the slaw. Other prices are estimates and will vary by store.

Quick Prep Steps:

  1. Season: Pat the thighs dry and toss with olive oil, garlic powder, salt and pepper.

  2. Cook the Rice: Follow the package directions and keep it covered and warm while the chicken cooks.

  3. Grill or Bake: Grill over medium heat for 6–7 minutes per side, or bake at 425°F for 35–40 minutes, until the internal temp hits 175°F.

  4. Sauce It Up: Brush on the BBQ sauce during the last 5 minutes so it gets sticky and caramelized without burning.

  5. Make the Slaw: Mix the coleslaw mix with a spoonful of mayo, a splash of vinegar, salt and pepper.

  6. Serve: Pile the rice, chicken and slaw onto plates and dig in!
